Welcome to Modern Rags Ministry, a faith-driven extension of the Modern Rags Podcast, led by husband-and-wife team Gene and Kaitlyn Santiago. For us, ministry is not just something we do and have felt in hearts for years but it’s the heartbeat of our marriage, our family, and our calling to serve others.

We’ve been happily married for 6 years and are blessed with three energetic boys who keep us on our toes and continually remind us of God’s goodness. As a family, we are passionate about loving Jesus, walking in the Spirit, and pursuing the work of God wherever He leads.

Based out of Reading, Pennsylvania, we are deeply committed to serving our local community while also reaching people across the nation through our ministry, speaking, and life coaching.

Both of us are registered nurses with years of hands-on experience in healthcare. Together, we’ve worked in psychiatric units, intensive care, and medical floors—walking alongside people in some of the most challenging and transformative moments of their lives. These years on the frontlines of care have sharpened our discernment, compassion, and ability to help others navigate crises—qualities that now carry over into our ministry and life coaching.

In addition to our professional backgrounds, we serve as small group leaders at our local church, investing in people’s spiritual growth and building authentic community. Over time, God has deepened our passion to see others experience true breakthrough—breaking generational curses in every area: financially, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and relationally.

Our calling is simple yet powerful: to help individuals and families step into freedom, renewal, and revival. Whether through life coaching, mentoring, or ministry, we aim to empower people to rise above their past and walk in the abundant life God has promised- no matter where or what you come from.

Beyond our ministry work, we’re just a real couple who love doing life together. We enjoy working out, worshiping, cooking together, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. These rhythms keep us grounded and connected—not just to each other, but to the joy of everyday life that God calls us to live.

With backgrounds in healthcare, leadership, discipleship, and a relentless pursuit of Jesus, we bring both professional credibility and Spirit-led passion to our coaching and ministry. Our story is proof that God can take “modern rags” and transform them into testimonies of grace, healing, and hope- or in other words “clean-rich garments”
